Job Description

Are you passionate about using the power of play to teach, inspire and mobilize employees at work, home and in their communities?

A unique opportunity to bring the LEGO mission to life and create outstanding impact for children in local communities and LEGO employees using learning through play!

Core Responsibilities

1. Lead Boston, Enfield and LEGO Brand Retail Volunteering Program.

Create an impactful volunteer portfolio that uses the skills, interests and passions of thousands of LEGO employees to inspire and develop the builders of tomorrow through play! Each employee receives two days per year to dedicate to children in their community. You will ensure they know about those days and use them to their fullest! From team building events and school takeovers through to mentoring and deep impact partnerships the portfolio must continue to be multifaceted and appeal to everyone.

We bring so much to the table – from the endless possibilities of the LEGO brick (of course!) and incredible global programs such as Build the Change and Build to Give – but also well beyond the brick - from tinkering and coding through to sports and outdoor play. We need you to take it to the next level.

  • Boston, MA: We already have 150+ employees based in our Boston Hub and that number is growing daily as teammates begin to move from Enfield Connecticut and new employees are hired in Boston. You will build our strategy, aligned with global direction, and portfolio of community partners, in partnership with the Social Responsibility Director - Americas, and drive volunteering in and around the Boston area – aligned with safety/child protection guidelines. You will deliver events, manage volunteer leaders and field all volunteering/funding inquiries from employees and community groups.

  • Enfield, CT: LEGO employees will continue to inspire children through our 10+ community partners located in the region surrounding the Enfield hub – through mid 2026. You will spearhead these efforts ensuring we are supporting our local partners and helping to close those partnerships aligned with the established plan - once employees have fully shifted to Boston.

  • LEGO Brand Retail (LBR) Volunteering: develop and deliver a plan to engage our 2000+ retail employees in volunteering – by bringing children and families to stores, using digital engagement and facilitating local engagements.

  • Manage volunteer and community budget. This includes all volunteering costs plus donations/grants to community partners as required.

  • Manage Matching Gifts, Dollars for Doers and other relevant local initiatives such as Thanksgiving fundraising drives, fun runs and holiday events.

  • Manage all program administration. This will include volunteer signup and reporting, children reached reporting, partnership reporting, financial management and other reporting to meet standards set by PwC and internal processes.

2. Champion the Play Agent Program in the USA . The Play Agent Program includes a wide range of Employee Play Engagement (EPE) initiatives that aim to equip employees and community partners to inject learning through play into their work, home and local communities – as play is our brain’s favorite way to learn – and you are never too old (or young) to play.

  • Be a Play Agent Hero and coordinate other volunteer Play Agent Heroes in Boston. A LEGO Play Agent is a LEGO employee who, in addition to their day job, is trained via an interactive workshop to understand the transformational properties of learning through play and can put it into action at work, at home and in the community via volunteering. A Play Agent Hero is trained to facilitate Play Agent workshops to LEGO employees and partners.

  • Lead Play Day for Boston/Enfield employees. Play Day is when LEGO Group closes its office and factories around the world and empowers its employees to play together! You will oversee Boston/Enfield Play day – taking a globally developed concept and making it an exciting day for well over 600 colleagues. You will: select the venue and delivery vendor, lead internal communications and signups, manage all administration of the program including budget, transportation, food/beverage, attendance tracking and even deliver opening/closing remarks.

  • Lead EPE communications: Ensure all employees are aware and excited about Play Agent Program and volunteering. This will include presenting at on-boarding sessions for new employees and delivering impactful town hall presentations to all USA staff.

3. Develop plan and lead execution of Product Donations

  • Work closely with US Inventory team to identify appropriate items for donation & aligned with partner requests.

  • Manage all program administration including SharePoint reporting, provision of letters and documentation plus any financial grants as required to support partner distribution.
