Senior Scientist (Nouryon Surface Chemistry LLC) (Bridgewater, NJ): Providing solutions for technical challenges based on deep scientific knowledge of biomaterials for consumer markets; Conducting research and development of experimental biosurfactants and biopolymers in the targeted home and personal care markets; Demonstrating knowledge of biomaterials to offer formulation and/or application solutions using Nouryon’s ingredients in the targeted home and application areas; Using, improving and creating new methodologies and tools to link test data to consumer attributes in above market areas; Generating IP applications and analyzing third party IP to formulate responses to the actions of patent examiners; Giving input to the business and/or RD&I on strategy; translating this strategy into plans and initiatives for the development of own files of expertise; Identifying opportunities for technical innovation and translating them to RD&I initiatives; Delivering results for large size and/or complex projects on time; Leading cross-functional product development projects; Mentor, train and coach colleagues to build knowledge and expertise; and Maintain and promote a safe work environment, end results are zero or minimum safety incidents and a clean, orderly working environment. In order to perform the above-mentioned tasks, the following skills and experience are required: Experience with biomaterial R&D; Profound application knowhow and Formulating skills in home and personal care research area; Comprehensive understanding of products, solutions and/or technology, and trends in home and personal care field; Experience utilizing scientific methodology and equipment for relevant research methods and techniques in own field; Experience leading technical projects from inception through completion; Experience with the IP application process; and Experience working with crossing-functional groups and international/diversified teams. Requires a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Chemistry or related field and two (2) years of experience as a Biomaterials R&D Scientist or related occupation.
