Google Policy Enforcement Manager, Trust and Safety in Hyderabad, India

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 2 years of experience in data analytics, Trust and Safety, policy, cybersecurity, or related fields.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in standards and practices at a major media company.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with ability to confidently brief executives.

  • Effective business judgment, influencing and decision-making skills, with the ability to build relationships with cross-functional partners, across geographies.

  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with attention to detail in an ever-changing environment.

  • Track record of working with product, engineering, and operations stakeholders at a technology or media company.

Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. On this team, you're a big-picture thinker and strategic team-player with a passion for doing what’s right. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and fight abuse and fraud cases at Google speed - with urgency. And you take pride in knowing that every day you are working hard to promote trust in Google and ensuring the highest levels of user safety.

As a Policy Enforcement Manager for Age Appropriateness, you will be responsible for ensuring that we constantly ensure age appropriate content is available to viewers on YouTube and YouTube Kids. This includes working with our policy development experts to create and implement age appropriate content policies for YouTube. You'll help implement and enforce our policies across videos, as well as define and implement operational plans globally, working with stakeholders in Product, Engineering, Vendor Operations, Analytics, Policy, and Legal. In this role, you will review graphic, controversial, and offensive video content in line with YouTube’s Community Guidelines. You may be required to work on-call on weekends and holidays.

A diverse team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers, we work to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Google’s products, protecting our users, advertisers, and publishers across the globe in over 40 languages.

  • Ensure age appropriate outcomes in content across the YouTube and YouTube Kids apps.

  • Partner with policy development, multiple product teams, vendor managers, and others.

  • Develop and implement policies and enforcement guidelines to create age appropriate experiences for YouTube viewers. Scale these policies across vendor spaces to ensure consistent and repeatable application of YouTube's policies.

  • Recognize and respond to emerging platform trends to create an appropriate viewer experience while cultivating rewarding outcomes for YouTube's creators. Help develop machine learning automation to scale human policy enforcement decisions.

  • Provide expert decisions and insights for YouTube content reviews in which Age Appropriateness is in question. Work cross-functionally with leadership on priority and time sensitive escalations to ensure user safety.
