Your day to day

Lead the Host team in delivering a warm and welcoming guest experience for all visitors. Utilize both technical expertise and social skills to maximize guests' dining experiences. Ensure that each guest feels welcomed and receives personalized, attentive service.

Financial Returns

  • Supervise cash handling and banking procedures, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

  • Perform cashiering duties during busy hours and handle cash closing procedures.

  • Prepare daily banking and cash flow reports.

  • Manage irregular payments and assist in preparing and managing the department’s budget.

  • Promote cost-saving measures and recycling initiatives among staff.

People

  • Comply with Standard Operating Procedures and InterContinental Brand Standards.

  • Uphold company grooming and behavior standards.

  • Communicate effectively with superiors, colleagues, and guests, ensuring smooth operations.

  • Participate actively in daily briefings, training sessions, and other scheduled meetings.

  • Foster positive communication between the Front Desk team and other operational departments.

  • Conduct on-the-job training for new team members under the direction of Assistant Managers and the Restaurant Manager.

  • Ensure proper handover procedures for the seamless transfer of information.

  • Align with company values, mission, and desired behaviors.

Guest Experience

  • Lead the Host team to provide a welcoming and exceptional dining experience for all guests.

  • Greet and seat guests, ensuring their dining preferences are noted and accommodated.

  • Address and resolve guest inquiries, complaints, and feedback promptly and professionally.

  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and presentation at hostess stations and across the restaurant.

  • Keep detailed knowledge of the menu, including daily specials, and ensure all menus are clean and in good condition.

  • Take telephone bookings, accurately document reservations, and manage the reservation system effectively.

  • Monitor guest satisfaction levels and implement improvements as needed.

  • Oversee the readiness of the restaurant before opening, ensuring all equipment and tables are set up according to standards.

  • Escort guests to their preferred or reserved tables and provide attentive service.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of hostess stations, menus, and dining areas.

  • Ensure efficient table clearing and safe handling of food and beverage trays.

  • Complete dockets accurately and maintain current information on hotel activities.

Responsible Business

  • Adhere to the Company’s Code of Conduct, Data Privacy, and Information Security policies.

  • Demonstrate awareness of OH&S policies and ensure all procedures are conducted safely within guidelines.

  • Be familiar with property safety, first aid, and fire emergency procedures.

  • Take action to correct hazardous situations and report potential dangers.

  • Log security incidents and accidents according to hotel requirements.

  • Keep track of regular guests and provide them with extra attentive service.

  • Assist in planning manpower and rostering when required.

  • Monitor Trip Advisor rankings and ensure staff are aware and trained to engage confidently with guests.

  • Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and multitasking skills.

Accountability

To provide an appropriate welcome for guests and potential guests, maximizing their dining experience using technical and individual social skills. You will also help to create a desired work culture around our Winning Ways of the IHG Hotels & Resorts and embrace the IHG Commitment.

What we need from you

High School or Vocational Certificate in Hotel Management, Food & Beverage, or related field, with 1 year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Obtained alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local government agency.

  • Diploma or Degree in Hotel Management or Hospitality from a reputed institution is advantageous.

  • Proven experience in a high-volume restaurant environment.

  • Positive attitude with a passion for service and a welcoming smile.

  • Willingness to learn and implement new and innovative ideas in food and service.

  • Ability to think creatively in challenging situations.

  • Genuine enthusiasm for the Food & Beverage industry.

  • Strong work ethic and a consistently positive attitude.
